Overview of the Company
The Virginia Beach Police Department has long been a leader in progressive policing. We are well known for our use of technology, our effectiveness in training and our innovation in approaching crime and quality of life issues in our community.

The principle objective to be obtained in law enforcement is the prevention of crime; the entire community must be involved in public safety; therefore, the Crime Prevention mission is to develop community responsibility directed at reducing the threat of crime and enhancing safety, thereby resulting in an environment where crime cannot flourish.

The Virginia Beach Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit offers many programs with the goal of making our city a safer place to live, work and play. Through education and awareness, and through these programs, citizens can take an active role in helping to, "Take a Bite out of Crime."
