Welcome and thank you for considering your participation with the Hampton Roads Business Education Collaborative. This document is intended to help you put together your virtual tour. The Getting Started Kit contains several pieces; your organizational profile, the Getting Started Demo, a Getting Started PowerPoint Template, and a Virtual Tour Hints document.

To participate with the Hampton Roads Business Education Collaborative, requires two primary components:

  1. A completed Organizational Profile (Word) which describes your organization, provides contact information and offers what optional activities you're willing to engage in beyond the Virtual Tour. The optional items could include internships, job shadowing, at-school speaking engagements, an even on-premise tours. However, these again, are all optional. The Virtual Tours are the only prerequisite.

  2. A Virtual Tour of your organization....but this is nothing more than a high-quality, marketing level PowerPoint presentation with photos, and narrative speaker's notes. We'll take your presentation and upload to the HRBEC website where it becomes your Virtual Tour.
Please note that your presentation must not only talk about your organization, but it must also discuss the importance and relevance of Virginia's Workplace Readiness Skills which are also found as a downloadable file for your reference.

In closing, HRBEC thanks you for your interest in supporting the Workplace Readiness initiatives for the State of Virginia.

Contact Dan Bell at: danbell@hrbec.org  with any questions or to send your profile and presentation in for posting to the HRBEC site.
